what to see in Ankara?

The main reason why most travelers stop in Ankara is Museum of Anatolian Civilizations, which has in its collection a unique collection of exhibits dating back to ancient history of Anatolia. The Palaeolithic period in the museum you can see the finds from the cave near Antalya Karain, from the Neolithic period – the excavation of Çatalhöyük near Konya, which is considered the oldest city in the history of mankind. You can also admire the excavations from the Bronze Age, Assyrian and Hittite

Near the museum stands the fort (Hisar) on a hill with a beautiful view on a large part of the city.
Climbing the hill we pass on the way the old quarter of Ankara – crumbling buildings and narrow streets, inhabited by poor locals.
Completely different meaning, especially the Turks themselves, has the monumental mausoleum of Atatürk (Anıtkabir). Located in a large park and surrounded by a wall, is a high security location, which the Turks surrounded by great reverence, as the tomb of the creator of modern Turkish state.
